So this week in Adventures in Technology we are talking about tagging, which is basically a way to draw people's (or yourself's) attention to an item in a blog, on a web page, etc. I was using tagging and didn't even know it!
As for use with a library catalog, I think it is a great idea! I really liked the look of the catalog page from the Ann Arbor library...anything we can do to get the patrons to interact with the system is awesome. I can see how it would make them feel like they are contributing to the library community.
Granted, I can see how this chides against the Librarian's sense of order, but if it is used to supplement the existing catalog structure, I think it will be very useful.

New blog
I could't remember how to get to my old blog...so welcome to my new blog.
I am setting this up primarily for a work assignment (Adventures in Technology at the Racine (WI) Public Library) but I hope to utilize it for my outside thoughts and interests, too.
Contact me if you want to chat about what I am writing!
So, this weeks assignment is setting up an IM account. I don't currently have one. I don't really like for people to know when I'm online (I'm one of those privacy-I'll decide when I want you to know I'm available-types). However, I can absolutely see the advantage of using IM in a library setting, as we need to make ourselves as available to the public as possible. I think it would be great if we got a service like that here at our library!
Oh, my AIM name is SarahECorso, so make me your buddy!
